GOAL

The goal of competitive league is *highly* competitive and spirited coed ultimate.

Unlike our usual leagues, which are designed to introduce the game to newcomers, Competitive League will provide an opportunity for the more experienced players in VOTS to come out and play hard, challenging games in a spirited co-ed format.

SCHEDULE

Competitive League is scheduled for a short season between New Year Fest and Spring League.

Game 6 Tuesday Feb 24
Finals Tuesday March 2

All games will be from 8:00 - 10:00 PM at the Tempe Diablo Sports Complex, south of Broadway off 48th Street.

FORMAT

Competitive League will have 4 teams, and each team will play each other twice during the regular season. Only the top two teams will play in Finals. Standings will be based on overall record, head-to-head record, and point differential, in that order.

ROSTERS

Each team will have a maximum of 10 men and 5 women. The preferred male/female ratio is 5/2, although 6/1 is allowed if teams are short women.

GAME DETAILS
  • 10th editions rules
    • including Callahan goal
  • Two points for a scoring pass from beyond midfield involving a women (either throwing or receiving)
  • Games start at 8:10pm
    • 1 point assessed every 5 minutes
    • No soft cap
    • Hard cap at 9:50 (finish point; play another only if tied)
  • Games to 17 - no win by two
  • Mirror at 9
  • 3 timeouts per game
    • max 2 timeouts per half
    • no timeouts after 9:50
    • two player substitutions permitted per timeout
    • turnover if a timeout called when team doesn't have a timeout available
  • 15 yard brick
TRADES

Captains will be allowed to trade players from team to team. Trades will be subject to review by Keith. Once a team has been mathematically eliminated from the finals, that team's roster will be frozen (no trades, drops, adds). The trade deadline will be February 18

SHIRTS

Bring a white and a dark for every game. No gray. No pastels. White and dark.
