GOAL

The goal of competitive league is *highly* competitive and spirited co-ed ultimate.

Unlike our usual leagues, which are designed to introduce the game to newcomers, Competitive League will provide an opportunity for the more experienced players in VOTS to come out and play hard, challenging games in a spirited co-ed format.

SCHEDULE

Competitive League is scheduled for these dates:
 
 

All games will be from 8:00 - 10:00 PM at the Tempe Diablo Sports Complex, south of Broadway off 48th Street.

FORMAT

Competitive League will have 4 teams, and each team will play each other twice during the regular season. Only the top two teams will play in Finals. Standings will be based on overall record, head-to-head record, and point differential, in that order.

ROSTERS

Each team will have a maximum of 15 players. The men to women ratio will be determined using the "offense dictates" rule.  If a team has a shortage of women, the team can play fewer  than seven players.

• 2 points for opposite-sex score from beyond midfield
• Games start at EXACTLY 8:00pm
• 1 point assessed every 5 minutes (JT will assess points)
• Games to 15 - win by two - cap at 17
• Mirror at 8
• 3 timeouts per game
• max 2 timeouts per half
• exactly 1 timeout in overtime (14-14)
• no timeouts after 9:50
• two player substitutions permitted per timeout
• turnover if a timeout called when team doesn't have a timeout available
• 15 yard brick

TRADES

Captains will be allowed to trade  players from team to team. Trades will be subject to review by Tom. Once a team has been mathematically eliminated from the finals, that team's roster  will be frozen (no trades, drops, adds).  The trading deadline will be February 19.

SHIRTS

Bring a white and a dark for every game. No gray. No pastels. White and dark.
