What is Men’s League?

Ultimate Frisbee League is a men’s only league offered by Valley of the Sun Ultimate Association (VOTS). The goal of league is to provide a place for all levels of men to play in a competitive team-oriented atmosphere.

What is Ultimate Frisbee?

Ultimate Frisbee is a high energy, non-contact team sport. It combines elements of many different sports including soccer, basketball, and football. Ultimate is played on a rectangular shaped field with end zones shaped like football end zones. Each team consists of seven players. The disc is passed from teammate to teammate (there is no running/walking with the disc) until somebody catches the disc in the end zone for a score.

When & Where are games held?

• Thursdays in May as well as Tues 5/6 (two games that week). There may also be some men's dates in June, possibly on Tues instead of Thurs, and the last games may be in early July. 8-10pm at Benedict Park and Tempe Sports Complex.
• 6-8 games per team, exact schedule dependent on registration numbers.
• Initial player cap of 102 players.

Who can play?

This is primarily an adult league, open to men ages 18 and up. Players who are 16-17 can sign up but must submit a signed parental waiver. Players under 16 are not eligible to play. To be eligible, players must turn 16 years of age before the end of league.

Do I need to have a team to sign up?

Nope! All players sign up as individuals and are placed on teams in a manner which evens out the number of beginner, intermediate, and advanced players per team.

What do I need to play?

You will need to bring:

1. Non-metal cleats (or tennis shoes if you don't have cleats).
2. A team color shirt (teams have a color and you wear your own shirt of that color)
3. Water (you'll get thirsty).

How much does league cost and how do I sign up?

The cost for league is: $13
Team shirt is NOT included.

Update, 4/24/14 - Registration has been changed to Wait List status to allow for schedule flexibility. If you're still interested in playing, don't hesitate to add your details to the list. Do not pay at this time. You will be contacted by a VOTS representative if you are added to the draft roster.

Registration will initially be capped at 102 players. A wait list will be put into effect *before* the cap is met.

Note: Payment made without filling out the registration form will not count as a registration.

Anything else?

• Alcohol IS permitted on the field in cups and cans. No glass is allowed.
• Any underage participant in violation of the Arizona alcohol consumption laws or any adult participant who furnishes alcohol to or purchases alcohol for an underage participant is subject to immediate suspension from league.
• Under NO circumstances should anybody drive onto the fields. We may lose our rights to reserve fields in the future if anybody drives on the fields.
